BCom in Marketing and Management Science vs BBA in Marketing Management - guide to differences

BCom in Marketing and Management Science focusBBA in Marketing Management focus
  • To train managers in the science of managing the supply chain to effectively support and to give credibility to the marketing function by delivering goods and services to the customers in such a way as to strengthen and support the existing relationships with customers as facilitated by the marketing function.
  • This programme offers middle and junior management levels of the Marketing Department the opportunity to encounter and acquire the knowledge and skills required to interpret, implement and execute the organisational marketing strategy at a functional level in a business environment. This ensures effective distribution of goods and services to the end-user with marketing insight and perspective as the guiding principle, thereby enhancing the outcome for the buyer as well as for the seller.
  • At this level, within the marketing process, the need for hands-on management of logistics and distribution plays a deciding role – the marketing function may have been effective in selling the product but if the goods are not delivered to the customer in time and with the requirements of the customer built into the product or service then the efforts and expense which were effective in selling the product cannot be realised.
  • This programme develops the skills needed by those who want to be part of the dynamic process of introducing the products and the services offered by the organisation to the existing market.
  • This programme also endeavours to hone the skills in those who want to be part of the process of identifying, researching and developing new markets and introducing new products to the existing customer base while keeping an eye on the opportunities of introducing new customers to the products or services in an ongoing effort to broaden the customer base.
  • One of the core organisational purposes is to grow turnover in an effort to increase income. Marketing management is at the forefront of this function where information is collected about customers and their needs, where senior management is made aware of new needs in new markets and ensures the development of products and services that effectively satisfies new, evolving and emerging customer needs.
  • To prepare students with the skills and knowledge which will eventually take them to senior management level where the marketing function is in line with the strategic intent of the organisation.
